Day 2Grand CanyonSedona and the Wonders of the Mighty Grand Canyon.: Explore bohemian Sedona with its shops and galleries, or simply take in the exceptional beauty of Red Rock Country. Drive along scenic Oak Creek Canyon, one of America's famous Scenic Byways, and arrive at Grand Canyon National Park. Join your Local Expert, Canyon Tim, for an informative talk about the wonders of the Grand Canyon. With over seven years of experience in geology, Tim will fascinate you by his enthusiasm and intimate knowledge about the Grand Canyon. You'll learn all about the origins of the five-million-year-old canyon, its rock formations and human impacts. While enjoying a glass of sparkling wine served rim-side, Tim will also talk to you about the local flora and fauna, as well as where you might be able to spot elk, mule deer, coyotes, grey foxes, bobcats and mountain lions. Day 3Lake PowellMonument Valley and Lake Powell.: Enjoy more vistas of the Grand Canyon on the drive along Desert View Drive, skirting the south rim of the canyon all the way to Desert View Point. Head to the historic Cameron Trading Post where you can familiarize yourself with Native American arts and crafts, from simple souvenirs to authentic Native American fine art for the real collectors. Journey on through the barren beauty of the Painted Desert and the Navajo Nation to picture-perfect Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Here you will meet your Navajo Local Expert and board all-terrain vehicles (8) with open sides for a private exploration of this valley and its towering sandstone buttes. Learn about Navajo history, culture and heritage from your guide as you travel deeper in the natural wonders of this unique place. Stop at a beautiful and private location overlooking this stunning landscape for a delicious, authentic Navajo Cookout Highlight Lunch prepared from scratch in front of you. Day 4Lake PowellLeisurely Lake Powell.: Your morning is at leisure. Perhaps join an optional float trip (8) down the scenic Colorado River, explore the area further pursuing your own interests, or simply relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the resort's facilities. Later on, take a scenic sunset cruise through the narrow sandstone turns of Antelope Canyon. End the day with a breathtaking sunset from your lake view or marina view room. (Breakfast)
Day 5Zion National ParkBryce Canyon and Zion National Parks.: Encounter Bryce Canyon National Park's otherworldly landscape of red rock pillars, known as hoodoos, pink cliffs and endless vistas surrounded by pine trees. Stops will be made at the major viewpoints and there will be time for a leisurely walk along Sunset Point or a more physical hike down the canyon. You will be spellbound by the beauty and majesty of this dramatic terrain. Travel through more amazing scenery on the way to Zion National Park. Cut through the Checkerboard Mesa and meander down to Zion Canyon, past many of the park's famous landmarks. Check in at Zion National Park Lodge, the only 'in-park' lodging for your relaxing two-night stay. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy your superb location, surrounded by massive, brightly coloured sandstone walls, some as high as 3,800 feet (1,158 metres). Evenings and mornings give you the opportunity for serenity and reflection, when the day visitors aren't in the park. (Breakfast)

Day 6Zion CanyonZion Canyon Excursion and Free Time.: A full day to enjoy the best Zion Canyon has to offer. Wake up early when the temperatures are still cool for a chance to spot wildlife around the lodge. After a leisurely breakfast, tour the canyon aboard a private Zion Canyon Shuttle, with live commentary from a Local Expert to show you the many scenic highlights. The rest of the day is free for you to explore as you please. Perhaps visit the Temple of Sinawa, the park's hallmark and walk the Narrows along the Virgin River for some incredible views. Otherwise hike to the beautiful Emeralds Pools or for the more active, hike all the way up to Angels Landing for panoramic views. Your Travel Director will be available to help you plan your day and make the necessary arrangements. Day 7Salt Lake CitySalt Lake City.: Welcome to Salt Lake City, the largest city in the state of Utah and the headquarters of the Mormon faith. Time permitting, start exploring the city on your own. Perhaps visit the Utah State Capitol and its ornate interior, or head for Historic Temple Square, 35 acres of enchantment in the heart of Salt Lake City. Whether it's the rich history, the gorgeous gardens and architecture, or the vivid art and culture that pulls you in, you'll be sure to have an unforgettable experience. (Breakfast)

Day 8Jackson HoleOn to Jackson, Wyoming.: Leaving Salt Lake City, a brief orientation tour of the city will take you past the impressive and iconic Temple Square with its six-spired granite temple, and the equally imposing Utah State Capitol. Then, head north, bound for Jackson, WY. After crossing Bear Lake Summit and skirting the shores of majestic Bear Lake, enter the state of Idaho followed by Wyoming. In Afton, drive under Elkhorn Arch, the world's largest arch of its kind, containing over 3,000 shed elk antlers. Continuing toward Jackson, follow the scenic road along the Snake River, showcasing beautiful foliage and miles of buttes and mountains. On arrival to this cowboy town, the rest of the day is yours to do as you please. With its four iconic elk arches guarding the corners of Jackson Square, you'll find a vast array of galleries, boutiques, restaurants and bars, including the renowned Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, where patrons sit on horse saddles instead of bar stools. Day 9Yellowstone National ParkYellowstone National Park.: Today, travel through Grand Teton Nation Park on your way to Yellowstone National Park. A stop is made at Mormon Row Historic District Cultural Landscape, also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, for picture taking of the famous iconic view of the John Moulton barn against the backdrop of Grand Teton's jagged peaks. Continue the scenic drive through the wild wonderland with eight majestic peaks thrusting skyward over 12,000 feet (3,658 metres), and Grand Teton peaking at 2.6 miles (4.2 kilometres). Grand Teton is also home to 11 active glaciers, vast forests, roaring rivers and more than 100 alpine and backcountry lakes. We then enter the jewel in the crown of all national parks: the awe-inspiring Yellowstone National Park, the world's first national park. Yellowstone's 2 million acres (809,000 hectares) are not only home to the world's largest concentration of geysers and geothermal features, but it is also an incomparable combination of natural beauty, rugged wilderness and abundant wildlife. Tonight, you'll stay inside the park for a relaxing two nights at one of Yellowstone's famous National Park Lodges, allowing you to experience the park in all its natural beauty after and before hours. Day 10Yellowstone National ParkGeysers and Colourful Mudpots.: Savour a full day to soak in the surreal surroundings of Yellowstone with a relaxed start. Learn all about the area from your Travel Director as you explore the park from the road and from its many walkways. The park is also famous for its wildlife: with more than 200 species of animals including bears, bald eagles, bison, wolves, elk and nearly 60 other species of mammals roaming their natural habitat. Admire the rainbow-colored hot springs, including Grand Prismatic Spring, the third largest in the world, bubbling mud pots, steaming fumaroles and a multitude of geysers, including Old Faithful which shoots its water over 100-180 feet (30-55 metres) into the air. Behold the powerful roar of Yellowstone Falls, before heading back to your lodge where the rest of the day is yours to do as you please. (Breakfast)

Day 11ClearmontThe Ranch at Ucross.: Today, enjoy a delightful day as you drive along the shores of Yellowstone Lake, and through the amazing scenery of the Shoshone Canyon and Absaroka Rocky Mountains, to arrive at the Wild West town of Cody, the boyhood home of Buffalo Bill. Learn about America's great western legends as you explore the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, known for its vast western art collection, firearms and natural history. Next, cross the picturesque Bighorn Mountains and arrive at The Ranch at UCross. Enjoy an all-American, ranch-style Highlight Dinner with wine, followed by an outdoor bonfire, s'mores, cowboy entertainment and hear the story of the ranch which dates back to 1882 and is now part of The Big Red Ranch Complex, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Day 12Spearfish CanyonDevils Tower into the Black Hills.: The ranch's breathtaking landscapes can be enjoyed this morning with outdoor morning activities, such as a guided scenic country horseback ride (8), fishing, or, if you prefer, perhaps simply relax and take in your beautiful surroundings by the heated outdoor pool. Then, make your way to Devils Tower National Monument, a unique and striking geologic wonder steeped in Native American legend and considered sacred to the Lakota and other Native American tribes. The Tower stands as a solitary, stump-shaped granite formation that looms 1,267 feet (386 metres). Arrive at Spearfish Canyon Nature Area, one of the most beautiful regions in South Dakota, described in 1935 by Frank Lloyd Wright as 'unique and unparalleled elsewhere in our country.' (Breakfast)

Day 13Custer State ParkCuster and the Wild, Wild West.: Enter the Black Hills National Forest as you journey along the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, a stunning gorge of some 20 miles of the most breathtaking scenery with thousand-foot-high limestone palisades in shades of brown, pink and grey towering on either side. Stop in Deadwood and join Kevin Costner's Original Deadwood Tour, with a Local Expert talking about the days of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane, who made this once lawless town notorious during the Gold Rush of the 1870s. Day 14Monuments of the Black HillsMonuments of the Black Hills.: The heart of the Black Hills offers spectacular representations of the nation's past, starting with a visit to iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial where giant carvings of United States Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt dominate the landscape. Next, is the highlight of today's excursion as you visit Crazy Horse Memorial, the world's largest, ongoing mountain carving, a colossal sculpture that could fit Mount Rushmore inside it many times over. Here, an exclusive and private Insight Experience awaits you as Local Experts take you up to the 641 foot (195 metres) long and 563 foot (172 metres) tall sculpture to stand face to face with the world's largest mountain carving. Dedicated to all Native Americans, this memorial is a sobering reminder of the Native American heroes who fought for their territories and the preservation of their traditional way of life. There is also time to visit the excellent Indian Museum of North America and the Native American Educational and Cultural Center before returning to the lodge.
